CBD Oil Early Morning Ritual
During the lockdown, rituals and routines become extremely important — after all, it is first thing in the morning, so it sets the tone for the day. One of these small yet beneficial routines we recommend trying every morning is to drink a big glass of lemon water with your CBD.
Step 1: Pour yourself a glass of water and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute (depending on your microwave) to heat it up. If you have the time, you can also boil* the water and let it cool. You should just warm the water a bit and be careful that it’s not too hot.**
*Be sure it's the first thing you do in the morning and you have an EMPTY stomach.
**CBD can be a tricky ingredient when it comes to heating. While warming CBD oil can increase its effectiveness, higher temperatures can also kill some of the active components. DO not heat CBD oil above 180°C (356°F)
Step 2: Spray two pumps of VAAY CBD Mouthspray into the glass and stir.
Step 3: Sip on the water, don’t drink it too fast. According to Ayurveda, sipping is the ideal way of drinking water. This is because the mouth has saliva, which we produce in abundance and saliva stabilizes stomach acid.
Step 4: Take a deep breath in through your nose, and let your belly push your breath out. Your chest should not move. No deep meditation needed, simply relax and only focus on your breath.

Drinking Warm Water In The Morning - Not A New Idea
Drinking water first thing in the morning is nothing new, in fact it’s been around for quite a long time. This practice is used in both Ayurveda and traditional chinese medicine. In India, many people start their day with a warm cup of water mixed with honey and lemon. In China, hot water is used to restore balance in the body, and in Japan, well they have something called Japanese Water Therapy.
If you caught a cold while living abroad in China, you’ve likely heard someone suggest you to drink some hot water. This is the advice given to anyone who is feeling unwell. The Chinese custom of drinking hot water goes beyond being a home remedy. Traditional Chinese medicine says that every human body is made up of yin elements and yang elements. An individual is healthy once yin and yang are balanced. If yang gets too strong, the body’s internal temperature rises, and that person's immunity is low. The best way to treat sickness is to bring back the balance by consuming food and drinks in the yin category. Hot water is a yin beverage.
According to Ayurveda, tap water is not absorbed at the same rate as boiled water. Regular tap water takes around 6 hours to get absorbed, whereas water which has been boiled, takes only half that time. While other cultures put an emphasis on the water simply being warm, according to Ayurveda, the boiled water you drink in the morning doesn’t have to be hot. It simply says that boiling water for ten minutes enriches it with energy. This energy then stimulates agni in the form of digestive fire which then helps to rid the body of toxins or Ama. Healthy digestion nourishes the entire body. When Agni is strong and balanced, robust health is assured. When Agni is weak, digestion is incomplete and leaves behind toxins, which can lead to low immunity. Don’t drink the water from your water bottle next to the bed. Water kept overnight loses these properties.
It’s also common to use warm water as an immunity boost in Japan. As many ailments begin with an unhealthy gut, Japanese Water Therapy can aid in cleansing your stomach and giving an extra boost to your digestion. It’s also recommended in Japanese traditional medicine to drink water first thing in the morning after waking up (even before brushing your teeth). It is believed that drinking water during this period not only promotes weight loss by helping your digestive system, but can also aid in avoiding illness.
