When it comes to buying cannabis oil online, the vast amount of options may seem overwhelming. To help guide you through this, we'll take a look at the differences between CBD Oil and hemp oil since they are often mistaken with each other.

  2. What are the advantages of MCT-Oil?
  3. CBD Oil: Effects and dosage
  4. Hemp oil: Keeping fatty acids in check
  5. Key Takeaways

What is CBD Oil?

CBD Oil is won from an extract of industrial hemp flowers and leaves which is solved in a carrier oil. The name CBD Oil derives from CBD being the largest component out of all cannabinoids in the hemp extract. Our VAAY CBD Oil mouth sprays contain between 5% and 10% CBD, but only 0.01% THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) which coincides with cannabis regulations. Because of the low THC content, you won’t experience an intoxicating effect from our products, but instead, it may help you find balance. Our Hemp-Wiki article on CBD vs. THC further explains what differences there are between the substances.

To produce this valuable extract, the components of the hemp plant can be extracted with various methods. The CBD Oil in our products is won by using CO₂ in the extraction process which is relatively gentle on the plant. This creates a thick concentrate that contains a full spectrum of hemp components as well as other valuable ingredients such as various cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

This full-spectrum extract is then mixed with MCT oil as a carrier oil. MCT stands for “Medium Chain Triglycerides” and it is an extract of high-quality coconut oil. It can also be used as a healthy nutritional substitute for other oils with long-chain fatty acids, such as olive oil.

What are the advantages of MCT oil?

MCT raises ketone levels

The brain is fully supplied with energy.

Improved training performance

The metabolic rate is increased and the body has more energy available.

Helps with weight loss

A feeling of satiety comes on faster and the body stores less as fat. The metabolic rate is increased and inhibits further subcutaneous fat being stored.

When consuming MCT oil, the ketones are transformed into energy and not stored as fat.

Helps ease gastrointestinal complaints

It's easier for the body to absorb and process vitamins and minerals. The intestinal flora is kept in balance.

Helps fight off viruses and bacteria

Since MCT oil contains lauric and caprylic acid, it's easier to fight off pathogens. Monolaurin is created by splitting lauric acid and can fight pathogens by penetrating their virus or bacterial envelope.

3. CBD Oil: Effects and dosage

Depending on the additional ingredients, CBD Oils can have very different effects. The core use of our mouth sprays is to maintain the health of your gums and mouth. CBD oil seeps into the tiniest of wounds in your mouth and eliminates any hidden bacteria which could cause infection or inflammation. Our mouth sprays can really help in keeping your oral health in balance.

CBD Oil can also be applied directly onto the skin. It gets absorbed into the deeper layers of skin tissue and can help moisturize your skin and alleviate any itching. We recommend mixing the CBD Oil with a day cream or body lotion and widely applying it onto trouble areas. Using CBD Oil as a massage oil on your lower abdomen can in some cases even help with menstruation cramps.

The duration you'll have to wait until the CBD takes effect greatly varies. It can be influenced by the food you eat, any supplements you take, or any other various factors. On average, CBD Oil will start to work within twenty minutes.

How long does CBD stay in our system?

The duration CBD is traceable in our system depends on our body weight and metabolic rate. Our daily rhythm and lifestyle also play a big role in this as well as how frequently and how much CBD we take. The speed at which our body breaks down CBD is greatly impacted by how exposed it already is to it, especially in what form, quantity, and frequency we consume CBD. Generally speaking, it can take about 24 hours for our body to break down the CBD in our system.

3. Hemp oil: Keeping fatty acids in check

Be careful not to confuse CBD Oil with hemp oil! Hemp oil, also known as hemp seed oil, is won from the seeds of the hemp plant. Similarly to manufacturing other oils, hemp oil is gained through a cold-pressing process without using any solvents.

The biggest difference, and probably the only difference you care about, is that compared to CBD Oil, hemp oil doesn’t contain any CBD. Make sure you properly check if a product contains hemp oil or CBD Oil before you purchase it. There are quite a few sellers of hemp oil that attempt to increase their sales by suggesting through ambiguous packaging that their products contain CBD when they don’t.

While hemp oil doesn’t contain any CBD, there are still many benefits in using hemp oil for our body- especially because it contains relatively high levels of unsaturated fatty acids.

Side note: What are unsaturated fatty acids?

Unsaturated fatty acids are fatty acids that our body can’t produce itself and can only be gained from the nutrients we consume. Hemp oil contains up to 70% unsaturated fatty acids as well as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. You might know of omega-3 fatty acids because of their anti-inflammatory qualities and they can be taken in the form of fish oil capsules. Hemp oil is a great vegan option to get your omega-3 fatty acids.

Hemp seed oil from a nutritional point of view

Unfortunately, our body isn’t capable of producing all the fatty acids it needs by itself. In an optimal nutritional diet, approximately a third of all fats we consume are unsaturated essential fatty acids. In the average western diet, this percentage is considerably higher but can be balanced out by adding hemp oil to the diet. In our modern diets, we consume high amounts of trans fats which can cause our cholesterol levels to rise. Consuming hemp oil can help decrease your cholesterol levels and balance out the fats you consume.

4. Key Takeaways: CBD Oil and Hemp oil

Here are the main differences summed up for you: Hemp oil may contain valuable fatty caids but no CBD! When looking to purchase high-quality CBD products, make sure you check that it really does contain CBD Oil and not hemp oil or hemp seed oil.

Our VAAY mouth spray contains not only CBD but also other effective ingredients of the hemp plant. By pairing CBD with MCT oil, these ingredients can fully unfold their effects and help improve your oral health. The CBD fights off any infections and inflammation while the MCT oil helps balance your natural oral flora. Another benefit of CBD is that it can also improve your overall wellbeing by allowing you to feel more relaxed and at ease.
